Features
Only the tools you'll use. Nothing you won't.
We cut the bloat. A full suite of tools that work together cleanly, with one shared transaction database underneath.
Automatic categorization
Three tiers run in order, all on our server inside your encrypted boundary: your learned rules, the bank's own category, and a built-in dictionary of 150+ merchants. Anything unresolved lands in a one-tap review queue, and your choice becomes a rule for next time.
Budget that doesn't nag
16 thoughtful default categories (Housing, Groceries, Eating Out, Subscriptions, Transportation, Debt Payments, and more). Set monthly targets, see a 6-month sparkline per category, add your own.
Debt payoff cockpit
Avalanche vs snowball comparison with live total-interest math. Per-card sliders to model extra payments. Set a payoff goal, we show the exact monthly extra to hit it.
Investment tracker
Portfolio across tax/Roth/IRA/401k/HSA. Compound-growth projector with inflation and tax-drag toggles. A 'pay debt first vs invest now' simulator for the classic dilemma.
Smart review queue
Anything the auto-categorizer wasn't sure about lands in a queue. One tap confirms the suggested category or picks a different one. Either way creates a rule for future transactions.
Ask anything about your money
A chat panel that answers anything about your spending, debts, accounts, and goals like a direct CFO. It reasons over a de-identified summary, never your raw transactions, balances, account names, or merchants. Every dollar it states is computed on our server, not guessed by the model, and you can see exactly what the AI was told on every answer.
Monthly close + insight
From the 25th onward, close the month: we snapshot every total, generate a one-paragraph insight, lock the transactions, and emit a PDF report you can save.
Privacy-first by design
No ads, no ad pixels, no cross-site tracking. The only third parties that touch your data are Plaid (bank link) and Anthropic (when you use AI); billing runs through Stripe and account emails through Resend, neither of which sees your transactions; our hosting provider stores the encrypted database; and PostHog Cloud US handles anonymized funnel analytics with no PII. Bank credentials handled by Plaid (we never see them). AI requests never include other users' data.
Personal and business, never mixed
Tag any account as business and it stays out of your personal totals. Get a separate debt-payoff plan for your business loans and cards. Built for freelancers and solo founders.
Financial health score
One 0 to 100 score built from five things that actually matter: your savings rate, emergency-fund runway, debt load, budget adherence, and net-worth trend. Each factor tells you exactly what to improve, and Pro adds a private AI read on your single best next move.
Opportunities, found in your own data
A ranked list of ways to save and earn, each with a real dollar estimate: your priciest debt to attack first, idle cash that could be earning more, subscriptions worth cutting, and more. Every one is computed on our side from your data, and nothing is sent to any third party.
What-if planner
Model a raise, a spending cut, an extra debt payment, or a rough patch, and watch it ripple through your cash runway, debt-free date, and net worth over the next five years, side by side against doing nothing. Instant, right in your browser.
Credit health
See your credit utilization, the biggest factor you control, overall and per card, with a clear read on where you stand and how to improve it. Computed privately from your own cards. No credit bureau, no hard pull, nothing that leaves your account.
Bill calendar
Every upcoming bill and paycheck laid out on a month grid, with a running balance and the first tight day flagged, so nothing sneaks up on you.
Alerts and your home screen
Get a heads up on low balances, unusually large charges, over-budget categories, and subscription renewals in an in-app inbox, and install Vekfinance on your phone so it opens like a native app.
Built for your household
Link a household of up to 6 people and see one read-only view of everyone's money. Each person keeps their own private account, and one Pro plan covers you all.
Savings goals and buckets
Set savings goals with a target and date, then split one savings account across named buckets by percentage (vacation, emergency fund, new car) so every dollar has a job and you watch each one fill up.
Cash-flow forecast
See your balance projected weeks ahead from your recurring bills and paychecks, so you know if money will get tight before it happens.
Reports and money flow
Ten built-in reports plus a money-flow view that traces every dollar from income to category, so you see exactly where your money goes each month.
See it in action
Every core feature, one quick tour.
For couples and households
See your whole household, together, and still private
You and your partner each keep your own account and connect your own banks. Link up and you both get one read-only view of your combined money: net worth, accounts, income, and spending, side by side.
- Your combined net worth, accounts, income, and spending in one place.
- Read-only for both of you. Neither sees the other's logins or can change anything.
- Connecting takes mutual consent, and either of you can disconnect anytime.
- One Pro plan covers your whole household, up to 6 people. Everyone you link gets bank sync and every Pro feature at no extra cost, no second subscription.
For solo founders and freelancers
When your business is basically you
Most apps make you choose: a budgeting app that ignores your business, or business software that ignores your life. Vekfinance does both, kept cleanly apart, so a business loan never skews your personal payoff plan.
Tag it as business
Mark any account as business and it stays out of your personal net worth, budget, and payoff.
Its own payoff plan
Your business loans and cards get their own debt-free date and avalanche or snowball plan.
One login
Stop juggling two apps for money that is all in one pile when you work for yourself.
Included, no add-on. No business banking, payroll, or invoicing, just clean separation and a clear payoff plan.
How it works

Why you can trust us
Private by architecture, not by promise
You can't be asked to trust a black box with your money. So we built the guarantees into the code, and we make money one way: your subscription.
Encrypted at rest
Your database is encrypted with AES-256. Bank tokens and two-factor secrets get a second layer of AES-256-GCM encryption on top of that.
Read-only bank access
We connect through Plaid with read-only access. We never see your bank password, and we can never move your money.
AI that never sees your raw data
The assistant reasons over a de-identified summary, coarse bands and ratios, never your actual transactions or balances. Every request to the model is logged for you to read.
Your data stays yours
Export everything whenever you want, or delete your account on demand. Deletion is a real hard delete, verified by an automated check, not a hidden soft flag.
Sign in your way
Passkeys and app-based two-factor authentication, passwords checked against known breaches, and an alert whenever a new device signs in.
One honest business model
No ads, no ad pixels, no cross-site trackers, and we never sell your data or train AI on your transactions. Your subscription is the whole model.
Vekfinance is independent and self-funded, with no outside investors. We are not SOC 2 certified yet, and we will not claim a certification we have not earned. Read the full security overview.
FAQ
Common questions.
How much does Vekfinance cost?+
Every account starts with a 30-day free trial with everything unlocked, bank sync, the AI assistant, household sharing, and the full toolkit. After that it's $10 a month or $99 a year. One plan, everything included, cancel anytime.
Which banks does Vekfinance support?+
Most major US banks via Plaid, including Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, USAA, Capital One, Citi, Discover, US Bank, PNC, and dozens more. Connect once and transactions sync automatically.
Is my financial data safe?+
Yes. Bank credentials are handled by Plaid (not us). Your data is encrypted at rest with AES-256. We don't sell data, don't run ads, don't use ad pixels or cross-site tracking, and never train AI on your transactions. We do use PostHog Cloud US for anonymized funnel analytics that never sees PII or financial values. Read the Privacy Policy for details.
Is this a Mint replacement?+
Yes. After Mint shut down in March 2024, Vekfinance was built to fill the gap. It does what Mint did (import transactions, categorize them, show a dashboard) plus modern additions like a private AI assistant, bank sync via Plaid, and a debt payoff cockpit.
How does the AI work, and is it private?+
There is one AI feature: an assistant (it appears as the chat, the monthly close insight, and the portfolio analysis). It runs on Anthropic's Claude, but it never sees your raw data. Before any request, your finances are reduced on our server to a de-identified summary (coarse bands, ratios, generic category labels), and only that summary plus your typed question is sent. Raw transactions, merchant names, account names and numbers, and exact balances never leave. Every payload is logged in an egress audit trail you can read.
What about loans, mortgages, or auto loans?+
Track them manually in Settings > Accounts. Most loan servicers don't expose data to bank-aggregation services like Plaid, so we let you enter balances by hand and update them after payments. The debt payoff cockpit works the same way regardless.
Can I import historical data?+
Yes. Drag CSV files onto /import. We auto-detect Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Capital One, and Discover formats. Other banks use a column-mapping UI. Multi-file drops are supported. Duplicates are deduped on date + payee + amount.
Do I need to install anything?+
No. Vekfinance runs in any modern browser, including mobile Safari and Chrome on iOS and Android. There's nothing to download.
