Who it's for
The budgeting app for couples and households
Share the picture, not the password. Up to six people on one plan, each with their own private account, one read-only view of the whole household.
Most apps handle couples one of two ways: a single shared login where nobody has any privacy, or two separate subscriptions that never add up. Neither matches how real households work. You want to see the whole picture, the mortgage, both cars, the joint account and the two personal ones, without reading each other's coffee receipts or paying twice.
Vekfinance links up to six people into a household. Each person keeps their own private account, their own budget and their own login. The household view shows everyone's balances, debts and net worth together, read-only, and one subscription covers all six. Monarch and YNAB both do household sharing; here is why ours works for the household you actually have.
How household sharing works
Three rules, and they do not bend.
- Private by default. Nobody in the household can edit or drill into anyone else's transactions. The shared view is summary-level: household net worth, assets, debts, this month's income and spending, and each person's net worth with their account balances.
- One plan for everyone. One person subscribes and the whole household gets full access. One member's trial covers the rest too.
- Six seats, any mix. Partners, adult kids, a parent you help manage money for, a roommate splitting the rent. Each gets a full account of their own.
- Joint accounts belong to one login. Connect a joint checking account from whichever member manages it, so it is counted once in the household picture.
- Leave cleanly. Any member can leave the household from their settings and keep their own account and data.
What couples use it for
The monthly money talk gets easier when both people are looking at the same numbers: household net worth, total assets and debts, and what came in and went out this month, with each person's own net worth beside it. Each partner runs their own debt payoff plan, savings goals and bill calendar inside their private account, and the household view is where the two pictures add up.
Compared with Monarch and YNAB
Monarch includes household sharing in its $14.99 a month plan and does it well; YNAB Together also allows six people on one $14.99 a month plan but everyone works inside the same zero-based budget. Vekfinance is $10 a month, gives each person a private budget instead of one shared one, and adds a debt cockpit, a cash-flow forecast, a health score and a private AI coach that each member can ask about their own money.
Private, even from each other
The AI coach answers one person at a time about that person's data, de-identified, and shows what it was told. The household view never exposes transaction-level detail. Encryption at rest, read-only bank access, passkeys and two-factor sign-in apply to every member.
Frequently asked questions
Does each person need their own subscription?
No. One subscription covers a household of up to six. One member's 30-day trial covers everyone during the trial too.
Can my partner see my transactions?
No. The household view is summary-level: account balances, debts and net worth. Each person's transactions, budget, goals and categories are private to their own login.
What about our joint account?
Connect it from whichever member manages it. That member's personal view includes it, and the household totals count it once because each connected account belongs to exactly one login.
How is this different from a shared login?
A shared login gives both people everything, including each other's personal spending. Household sharing gives both people the whole picture while keeping personal detail private, and each person gets their own passkey and two-factor setup.
Can we budget together?
Each person has their own private budget, goals and buckets. The household view combines the totals, not the budgets. If you want one combined budget, run the joint account from one member's login.
